Hamelin – The Pied Piper town

The permanent exhibition shows the history of the city from the first traces of human activity to the recent past on 1,200 m².

A separate exhibition area is dedicated to the Pied Piper legend, for which the museum has probably the largest collection in the world.

The highlight is the Mechanical Pied Piper Theatre, which translates the legend into an artistic installation with a modern aesthetic. Performances last about 12 minutes and usually take place every hour and as required. Visitors with little time can see the Pied Piper Theatre independently of the other exhibitions.
